Election observers: if any Republican can defeat McAuliffe, it’s Youngkin
FALLS CHURCH, VA –Conservative Republican business leader and candidate for Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin handily won the straw poll conducted at the conclusion of last night’s Faith & Freedom Coalition Governors Debate hosted by the Virginia Faith & Freedom Coalition and The Family Foundation of Virginia.
Youngkin earned 61% of the vote, with his nearest competitor garnering only 27%.
“Conservatives are uniting around our campaign in the home stretch of this contest,” said Youngkin. “We won the Liberty University College Republican straw poll and we are leading all of our competitors in registered delegates, miles traveled across the Commonwealth, events hosted, and fundraising. Momentum is building for our campaign because more Republicans are beginning to understand that I am the only candidate in this race who will defeat Terry McAuliffe, stop all the terrible policies coming out of Richmond, and make Virginia the best state in America to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you to the Faith & Freedom Coalition and the Family Foundation of Virginia for hosting this debate. We are going to play hard until the buzzer and I look forward to finishing the convention strong on May 8th!”
Election observers have said that if any Republican can defeat Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November, it’s Youngkin.
Youngkin’s latest straw poll victory comes after he won the Liberty University College Republican straw poll and received the endorsement of Middle Resolution PAC, highlighting the growing conservative grassroots support for his campaign.
