FALLS CHURCH, VA - Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for governor Glenn Youngkin issued the following statement on Hispanic Heritage Month:
"Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, and I am proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of Virginia’s Hispanic and Latino communities. We are home to a strong community of over 900,000 Hispanic and Latino Virginians who seek to live out the American Dream. They share with us their rich and vibrant heritage through their food, music, and traditions—from El Salvador to Bolivia to Mexico to Puerto Rico and Cuba—and Virginia is a better place because of it.
"Latinos are business owners, teachers, healthcare providers, lawyers, military service members, law enforcement officers, and so much more. America is a nation of immigrants, so let us also take time to recognize the history shaped by Hispanics and Latinos.
"On behalf of Suzanne and rest of Team Youngkin, I want to thank our Hispanic and Latino communities for your contribution to our great Commonwealth, and I look forward to working with you to make Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
"Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!"
